This review is from: Chemex Six Cup Glass Coffee Maker with Glass Handle - 6 Cup Coffee MakerI am very pleased with this product. I have been eyeing it for awhile, mostly as an alternative to the drip we use daily for reasons of getting away from plastic. I am glad I waited because the new design with the handle is wonderful--the coffee pours easily and gracefully. Some things to be ready for, though--it does take about three to four rounds of pouring the boiling water over the coffee grounds while waiting for it to drip, and the glass container cools fairly quickly. I was also concerned that the extra steps of boiling the water and pouring it through would be too much in the morning as opposed to filling up the drip machine and hitting the switch, but I find that I actually like the ritual of preparing coffee with the Chemex (and I am not a morning person). Also, I found that pre-heating the Chemex with hot tap water for a few minutes while waiting for the coffee water to boil makes a lot of difference, and then once the coffee is brewed, I pour it all into a stainless steel carafe or thermos to keep it hot. The coffee is so good that any leftover at the end of the day, either re-heated or iced, is delicious. The six-cup is perfect for one to two enthusiastic coffee drinkers. I highly recommend!...This review is from: Chemex Six Cup Glass Coffee Maker with Glass Handle - 6 Cup Coffee MakerSo far I like the Chemex a lot. Best coffee I've made in a l-o-n-g time and it's nice not to have to worry about water leaking out of the bottom of my old coffee maker any more! I'd much rather heat the water separately than go through that again. -- The glass is on the thicker side, but I do worry about breaking it. I debated between this size and the smaller one, but am glad I went with this one. Even though I usually only make a cup or two of coffee at a time, it's nice to know I can make more if I want to....This review is from: Chemex Six Cup Glass Coffee Maker with Glass Handle - 6 Cup Coffee MakerThe chemex is a wonderful experience in making coffee. Some people think these are new, but they have been around for a looooong time. Combined with the chemex filters you will start making coffee just as good as your local brewer. Takes a little practice and a few tries to get the method correct, but in the end it is totally worth it. I prefer this handled version over the classic, just makes pouring a little bit easier....
